What is one experience that has shaped you to be the person you are today?
Probably the most defining moment in my life was moving to Colorado Springs and eventually meeting my husband. I was in my early 20s, and like most people in their early 20s, I didn’t feel purpose. I was flailing, insecure and lost. When I moved to Colorado, things just really started to line up for me and I began to feel like I was walking in my purpose. Then, meeting my husband really helped me to form a deep level of self confidence I had really never known and enabled me to flourish. I don’t think everyone needs a partner to flourish, but I do believe that
if you’re going to have a partner, having one that fully supports your dreams and encourages you to achieve them is key.
What is one experience that has helped you grow yourself, your business, or your career? Please explain how.
I don’t think it’s so much about one experience, as it is about a series of choices. Choosing to show up everyday, to give it the best you got, knowing when to rest and replenish, taking care of your mind and body, not filling your mind with garbage and distractions…these are all what contribute to growing myself, my business and my career. I also am really passionate about having an abundance mindset. If you have your palms clenched tightly and live in a place of scarcity, you can’t let anything else in. You have to be generous with your time and your resources, embrace change and believe that there is enough pie to go around for everyone. You’ll get your share.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t care so much what people think of you.
What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?
I am a firm believer that the early bird gets the worm..
What is the one book that you recommend our audience should read and why?
Atomic Habits – It’s a blueprint for how to make small, incremental changes daily that stack up and end up having big last impacts. It’s a ton of content to digest – I feel like I need to re-read it several times, but it is filled with gold nuggets.
What is your favorite quote?
One day in a Peloton class with Robin Arzon, she said something that really stuck with me. She said something along the lines of… “we all sit around and make vision boards trying to achieve the lives we want for ourselves, but to remember that YOU are someone’s vision board. YOU already have the life that someone is out there dreaming about. So you better act like it.” I really cling to that message because it reminds me to be GRATEFUL for everything I already have and to show up everyday being the best that I can be. Someone is out there watching me and counting on me to do that, so that they can show up for themselves.
